so on sunday, as planned, the few of us, me, poh liang, rachel, shara, sato, roby, meida and issac went too lantau island to see the big buddha. took the cable car up and its a very shiok experience. 2nd time i took cable car so far, the first time is up to genting a few yrs back and i think this is definately better than genting one..hahaa..coz the scenery from the cable car is nice...and for a change, we decided to have vegetarian for lunch tt day. kinda sick of the other food in HK already so this change is so timely. and yeah the food is nice..
tried to trek up to the lantau peak but then realise that it wil take us 4.5 hours to get up, which means we will get there at night?!?!!?...so just trek for 10-15 mins and enjoy the nice sceneries before turning back. i think it will be super interesting to hike up to the peak siaz. perhaps we should go back one day.
something i so wanna complain is the air here siaz. its so polluted and dry tt i have been coughing non stop. guess i will go get a mask soon man...wonder how the locals can survive with this kinda pollution everyday siaz...
there is this structure along the wisdom path which is built in the shape of ∞, signifying infinity and there are also craftings on each wooden planks from Heart Sutra
We went to Victoria park at night to experience the Mid Autumn festival mood in Hong Kong. and just nice sunday is the exact day of MAF. i guess it had been a long time since i so called "celebrated" MAF. actually the celebration here is also not very elaborated, just some simple lantern lightings and some traditional folk songs on the stage. But there are lots of pple there, simply just trying to immerse into the mood ba and also playing with lanterns. One thing i observe is that there are not many pple playing with the traditional paper lanterns, most r carrying battery operated ones or even just playing with light sticks. i guess tradition is slowly giving way to modernisation. But we managed to get 2 paper lanterns and played with them and eat mooncake and crap around...just a fun gathering for the lonely sporeans in HK..hahaha
